My Secret Obsession

Psst, come closer. I have a secret to tell. I’m obsessed… with Japenese designers.

Yes, I secretly hunt (well stalk to be more exact, but don’t tell anyone) several shops and sims in SL that sell their clothing. I love the details, the color combinations, and the extra touches of designers such as DP, EMA, Kuri Style, Aoharu, and more. So I thought it time to come clean about my fascination and admiration of these unique designers who live thousands of miles away!!  Today’s post includes dresses from Kuri Style, Miu, YOME SHOUJO, Honey Soul, as well as accessories by W&Y, :69: and Aoharu.

Kuri Style

I’ve been shopping at Kuri Style for quite some time. I found it when I was looking for an umbrella– can you believe that? Well, besides selling umbrellas (just a few), Kuri Style sells imaginative, colorful, and slightly off the beaten path dresses and separates.  I always find joy in going to K*S just to see what’s new. Every now and then, word will fly around the grid that dresses are on sale. You’ve never seen so many people cram into one little area to grab up the goodies! Besides the often and generous gifts, most of the items are affordable, ranging from 50L up to 200L.  Below is the One Piece 17 dress (yes, its a weird name I know). It reminds me of pink cowhide, LOL. A fun dress, a fun feeling!

Yome Shoujo

This store is pretty new to me. I came across this designer on the fashion blogs and had to check it out. When I saw this dress as a Lucky Letter gift, I stalked the shop for three days straight. I finally nabbed it! Pink all over and so freaking cozy. I just had to accessorize with hair from ::69:: and boots from Aoharu.

Miu

I had not been to Miu in a while so I took a trip there earlier this week. After looking around, I realized I had some cute dresses from here that I have never worn. Like this one below. Ahh, that’s what happens when you’re a clothes hog like me.

This dress is softly done in a wool like texture, trimmed softly with white lace. How sweet! Hair from W&Y and shoes from G*F create the innocent, school girl effect.  Hmm… I think I’m lost. Where’s my mommy?

Honey Soul

With a name like Honey Soul, you know the designs have to be wickedly sweet! And trust me, they are. I have been shopping here forever and I just love the way the clothes just seem to fit me. Always girlie, the dresses at Honey Soul work for every occasion– a day of shopping or kicking around with your friends.

It was a bit cold the day I put on this sleeveless dress, so I added a bolero from AnnaH (Catherine outfit). I keep coming back to that piece time and time again as it goes so well with so many things. I have been rocking this hair from W&Y for the last few days. Sorry I haven’t taken it off yet. The hair and hat come together– the hat comes in different colors too! Boots are from Raskn and come with the sock attached. How’s that for convenient!

Hope you enjoyed this peek into my secret obsession. If you liked anything, be sure to check out the stores in world. There just might be something there for you. Maybe we can share this obsession together!!

Until next time,

Beauty’s Only Skin Deep

It’s Hump Day!

Before we dive into today’s highlights, I want to wish every reader a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday. Even to those of you who may not celebrate, I wish you the love and warmth of family and friends. My Thanksgiving will be quite his year as I am not traveling home to NYC.  But I will be cooking some food, so stop by if you can. I’ll save a plate for you!

We’ve all heard the saying that beauty is only skin deep. Of course it is important to look beyond the physical, to see the beauty on the inside. But one can’t help to stop and stare at the beauty of the new skin line by Chai– DoubleShot.

A big shout out to Launa Fauna, the wildly creative mind behind Chai. As she dropped the new skins on me, I told her how PLEASED I was that she decided to explore with darker skin tones. I had always longed to wear a Chai skin, but the darkest tone she had was soo light for me. So when I say I was grinning from ear to ear at her newest tone additions, it is an understatement. A slight word of caution for some folks. The detailing on the hands and feet are very realistic. I honestly have not seen detailing that realistic and it was bit of a jolt from the usual. For some people that might be a bit weird, so I wanted to put it out there.

Rich, creamy, chocolatey… I told Launa I wanted to actually eat the skins. She just laughed at me… I can be so silly I know. But really, that’s just how delicious they are. But don’t just take my word for it.  See for yourself!

DoubleShot will debut next week. Eight tones in all, with tones 7 and 8 being the darkest. The skins come freckled and non-freckled, as well as non-cleavage and cleavaged versions on both the freckled and non- freckled. At 1000L per skin, not a bad deal at all.

Until next time,

Kiss Kiss
