Hello You Fabulous Thing You!

Let me tell you, it was so hard to get back to work today. Having been on holiday since last Wednesday, I was just a pile of lazy bones today. Motivation to work was low as vision of turkey, pie, and champagne floated in and out of my mind.  :sigh:

But in SL I am always excited to share a few fashion finds, like the ones below from Ero Rabbi, KessKreations and Orage Creations. I am feeling quite lyrical today so all my posts as inspired by some of  my favorite songs.

Jumpin Jack Flash

But it’s all right now, in fact, it’s a gas!
But it’s all right.  I’m Jumpin’ Jack Flash,
It’s a Gas!  Gas!  Gas!

~ Rolling Stones, 1968

I was feeling kind of grungy yesterday. I just bounced around the grid, just wandering from place to place. Almost like a kid that roams around the block and looks to get into some trouble. From the looks of it, I was the one in the trouble with my hands in the air.

This cutesy dress from Ero Rabbi is a freebie (I believe so) and it takes plaid/ check to a funky level. The arm warmers were included… and can I say it really made the look! I paired it with leggings from LaLa(FooFoo), which by the way were only 25L. A store wide sale is going on at LaLa and everything is 25L… rush over to grab some basics like tanks, tees, leggings, etc. The shoes, OMG, were a total steal. $0L $1L for these fun, kickin’ it around, shoe boots. Perfect for jeans and crazy dresses. Perfect match, wouldn’t you say?

I have featured this warp around braided hairstyle from Polished Hair. They are (last time I checked) a closing sale and their hairs were DRASTICALLY discounted. So hurry on over before it’s too late. Mad About has this cute “8 ball” jewelry set which includes earrings (worn here) and necklace. A odd, yet stylish way to top off this look.

Weird Science

From my heart and from my hand
Why dont people understand
My intentions . . . . oooh, weird . . . .
Weird science!!

~Oingo Boingo, 1985

Well this hat strikes me as poetically weird… if there is such a thing. It makes such a resounding, swooping statement against the delicate, lacy design of this dress from Orage Creations. Hard to believe that the dress and hat together are only 10L. Umm hmm… yeah only 10L. I stumbled onto this store from a blog posting because the freebie here seemed decent. I ended up buying several outfits here and really liked the quirkiness and boldness of this one.

I kept everything simple. Hair was a striking blonde, pixie style from Bishwear. I added the Times Square ring from Paper Couture. Skin from Adam N’ Eve provided drama and a smoky, smolder effect.

Disco Nights

The feeling’s right
And the music’s tight
On the disco nights

~GQ (Good Quality), 1979

Yeah, I felt like breaking out some roller skates and my whistle. Although I was just a kiddie when disco was in its prime, I so connected with the music, the vibe, the whole culture. Slipping into this outfit from KessKreations took me back to Skate Key Rink in the Bronx (anyone know what I’m talking about?). As JayKay from Jamiroquai would say…. good times… good vibes… yeah…

Nothing says disco like an afro. In this case, I picked up this fluffy, bouncy, and sexy afro by Reed Columbia from OnRez. Funkified this outfit and took me “back in the day.” Snakeskin shoes from Kitties Lair and earrings from M&R Cupcakes keep it glam and funky at the same time. The skin I am wearing is a gift from M&R Cupcakes. They have moved to LeZoo, so in celebration that have some great gifts scattered about the store.
