An early start to my Sunday morning…

I wandered the grid for a while looking for new fashions. To tell you the truth, I wasn’t all that inspired. Maybe I just didn’t want to part with my lindens, IDK.  What I did end up doing was doing some quality freebie shopping, almost like I did when I was a noob. Those were the good old days, LOL.

So this week’s edition of From My Lips is going to showcase free or almost free items. In large part, it will also be a spotlight on Peppermint Blue. But I will also have some fashions from Wetherby’s, Noir Lolita, and LikeA.  I am going compact this week, less verbage but same amount of picks. Blame it on my being uninspired to write something witty.

I was so lazy this weekend, I didn’t cook. So we are making it a Domino’s night. Grab your favorite acid, chow down on  some pepperoni pizza and digest  these tasty treats from around the grid!

It’s Okay To Be Blue

Peppermint Blue is best known for its wonderful frebbie assistance packs, largely aimed at new avatars. These packs include a ready made outfit and often includes hair and skins. For somone just stepping onto the grid and not truly understanding attachments, etc., these packs can be like mana from heaven.  The quality of the clothing is quite good too.  But I will tell you something, the noobs are the only ones than enjoy these free outfits. Yes my dears, I too partake in the Peppermint Blue frenzy and grab as many interesting outfits that I can find.  They are perfect for us experienced fashionistas to pick apart and rearrange. Great looks like the ones canbe pulled together just by grabbing a few packs and having some fashion fun!

Overheard On The Blogs

As a fashion blogger, I try to keep up with what everyone else is doing and talking about. As I was browsing my round of blogs (check my blogroll to see many of my favorites), I came across some great places and new fashions. I ended up TP’ing to many places where English was not the primary language, LOL. But I can spot a “K” on anyone’s lucky board. So needless to say I came up with some unexpected treasures. It pays to always keep your eyes and ears open when it comes to fashion. Sometimes its your fellow friends and bloggers that hip you to the best stuff around!

Review: Ample Avi

Another hot and steamy Saturday…

I awoke this morning to find a lovely note and review folder from Xme Xue, owner of a new store called Ample Avi. The store, according to Xme, is full of shapes that are designed for the full-figured woman. In the review pack, Xme included a shape called Rita. This shape will be available today as a gift at the grand opening on the Itame sim at - http://slurl.com/secondlife/Itame/17/62/86.

I will be honest on two fronts. One, my perception of curvy and full-figured is vastly different from most shape designers in Second Life. Second, I still find that for many, curvy may mean a rounder tush or bigger boobies… and usually nothing more.

For a new store and new entry into the shape area, Xme does a decent job. While I liked the shape, it certainly was not what I would see or consider as full-figured or curvy. I would describe it as a bit thicker than the normal rail thin AVIs. Which is a good thing!

I took the liberty of trying on the shape right at home, just fresh out the bed. Yeah, ok so I might be a lil funky (he he). Ignore that waft of sweat and feet please! But take a look at the shape. I think the torso and back look quite nice. I do think the legs are a tad bit more meatier than normal AVIs, but they were still was too thin for me.

Overall, the shape seemed to be a nice proportion. Nothing seemed too out of place or overly emphasized (which is very important in a good shape).  As the saying goes,  I just like a little extra meat on my bones. But I know I am in the minority in SL as most people secretly dislike larger AVIs.  So for those of you not ready to take the plunge to wear a very robust and round shape,  the Rita shape is a good  combination of hump and bump but with enough thin-abilty to keep your friends from talking about you. You damn Vain thing you!

While I won’t be giving up my own shape, I do plan on stopping over to Ample Avi. If you are in the market for a new shape, or just want to try your hand at a “fuller” shape, go grab the free shape and check out the rest of the shop. Shapes start at 1800L and are fully modifiable and copyable. WOO HOO!!!

Old Style Is New Style Again

Well it seems as though you can go back…

When designers, such as Irie of  So Many Styles, are so prolific in the sheer number of fashions they create, I imagine at some point they will just run out of room.  Several weeks ago, I blogged that SMS had moved to a new location with more room. Well space is a commodity, even in SL, and as such Irie has had to remove some inventory from the main store.

But never fear, you can find allof SMS’s past collections and designs on XStreetSL. As I took a browse on line erlier this week, I realized there were items I never had the chance to buy. So really what seems old can now be new again!  Check out these looks that may be old hat for some, but new to others. Then head on over to XStreetSL to grab some great fashions at very low prices! Fat packs start at 100L. What a steal!!
