Welcome to my newest weekly column…

“Top It Off” will take a look at all things fashionable in the SL world of accessories. This means everything non-clothing related. I’m talking skins… shoes… jewels… fashion attachments… bags… and of course hairs too!  Readers have commented on my knack for using accessories and bringing different looks to together, so I thought why not make a weekly go of it!

So for this inaugural post, let’s just start from the top, work our way down, and finally see the whole look  pulled together.

A Hair Affair

Ms. Rubina, of Adimu fame, has been a good friend of mine in SL for some time. She is funny, sensible, and always in the mood to create something unique.  Even when she was “quiet”, she was steadily working on some new designs. Now that she has resurfaced, she has not disappointed. With 3 new hair styles, one of which is featured in the SCD Reader Appreciation Day, Ms. Rubina  continues to stretch her creative wings. Check out this new sweet and funky style called Amerie.

 
I Can See Clearly Now

In RL I wear glasses, but mainly for distance and for driving. So in SL, I like to wear and experiement with different styles of eyewear. An interesting shape or color can really bring out someone’s eyes or just pull a whole look together. These neat, retro style sunglasses from +Mocha+ were the right mix of sensibility, comfort, and fabness.

Best Face Forward

A few months back, Domestic V (DV) posted a fashion notice in-world. I had never heard of the store prior to the notice but decided to check it out. I always like to see if skin creators tackle the challenge of  making darker skin tones. I was half expecting to tp into the store and leave. But I wandered over to a section that had darker tones and I bought them right then and there. A tad unusual for me, because I will demo a skin to death before I buy it. Once I tried them on though, I was not disappointed. I like the makeups on this skin and I like the way these skins sit on my shape. My nose is just the way I like it, as are my lips. I am looking forward to the next line and hopefully (keep fingers crossed) there will be darker tones included.  I use these skins a lot for my blog because they just look cool on me. Not a high glamour look, but a very (IMHO) realistic and off beat look.

The Family Jewels

I have blogged about Uzuri previously, so there is not much more I can add here. I will say that Bella Bombast has released some new items over the past few weeks. So if you have not had your Uzuri fix recently, please make your way on over… like NOW!

Neat Feat

Chuchulet has some of the cutest jewels and shoes on the grid. Usually priced at 1L, the items at Chuchulet are a real bargain. I admit to grabbing all the goodies I can when I visit the store. The other day as I browsed for something on XStreetSL, I came across these 1L sandals by who else… Chuchulet! I was excited and purchased about three pairs… yes I suppose I could spare 3L (LOL). Anyway, here they are in gold tone but they also come in white, silver, black, and possibly brown.

It’s In The Bag

I just adore this woven leather bag from Bare Rose Couture. The studded embellishments and leather look make this a definite winner for the summer and fall. What’s neat about these bags is that Bare Rose gives you three “types” of bags.  Same bag, so don’t get excited! But the bag comes as a handheld option, a forearm option, and a shoulder option. Now that’s some good thinking! Only for 100L, this bag comes in a multitude of colors and truly is a must have for all fashionistas!

From Head To Toe

Well there is nothing left to do but show the whole outfit pulled together. Since I am not naked or anything, I will remark on the clothes.  The tunic is the lastest release from the the darling in-world store called Salsa!. The jeans are from SRU which I blogged about last week.
