A Week’s Worth: Thursday w/ Thimbles
OMG… it’s so flipping hot outside!
Man, I stayed home today as it was hot as the devil outside. I went up the street to get some stuff from the supermarket. I was DRENCHED with sweat by the time I came back. So no more outside for me until tomorrow.
But that left me plenty of time to play dress-up in all my clothes from Thimbles. In yesterday’s post, I mentioned I would show a very classy and refined look for today. Well my dears, I did not disappoint you! I came up with two very different looks and I am sharing them both.
What was fun about these looks was that I also incorporated touches from other Starlust-related vendors. Split Pea (which is Mela’s other venture) and Pudge are just a few. Tomorrow, you’ll see some stuff from Pig (Apatia’s venture) mixed in as well. But even with the funky touches, who says Thimbles can’t be serious and ladylike– huh? As always, happy shopping!

A Week’s Worth: Wednesday w/ Thimbles
It’s Wednesday… one half behind us… the other to come!
Real life was conflicted for me today. With several business meetings, I had to be “on” all day long. Even in 90+ degree weather! Half-way through the day I was yearing to jump out of my suit and just kick it. I wanted to run around in the fields and act like a child– even if for a few minutes.
So with that, my inner child wanted a really funky yet super comfy look for today. Not that hard to pull off with the fashions at Thimbles. From tanks, dresses, tees, bowties, tube tops, shorts, and even shorter skirts, Thimbles really has something for everyone no matter their personal sense of style. What I like about Thimbles is that most of their designs come on every layer imaginable. This is a great for folks like me as I love to mix and match! It’s amazing to think that Mel and Apatia offer great clothing, with so many options at kick ass prices. Some items start as low as 5L (these are older styles). But really a good 100L or so will take you VERY far!
I hung out on Starlust Extended today, specifically Anchor City and Area 408. Lots of fun things to do there and hidden suprises as well. So check me out clowing around in my Lust For Lloyd ensemble. Fun kicks from A-Bomb and hair from Inorite (free , Skipping Stones Hunt) let me play around and still look cool. As always, happy shopping!

A Week’s Worth: Tuesday w/ Thimbles
Time for Tuesday’s look…
I totally adore cats. In fact, I have one in real life My little man is very much like a child to me. We fight, have our loving moments, and sometimes take cap naps togther. But most of the time, he likes to lay around and be to himself. And while I think he sometimes believes he rules the home, I know indeed that I am the master!
It would be fitting that today’s outfit from Thimbles would reference cats. In fact, this sweet short/jumper outfit is called “Master of Cats”. LOL… how appropriate! If only my cat could see me, oh how he would tremble in fear. Okay, maybe not. But wearing this outfit gives me an odd sense of control and superiority over him. *insert evil grin here*
Cat tales aside, I had fun with this look as I addeded other fun touches. Like the 1/3 tee shirt in black from Thimbles. Deep in my inventory I found the cutest necklace for this outfit– Staring Kitten in Silver by Lena Eagle. Not even sure where I got it from. I have truly become a pack rat in SL, I swear I never throw anything away! My shoes are my trusty but never dusty flats from 50 Flats.

A Week’s Worth: Monday w/ Thimbles
Time for this month’s edition of ‘A Week’s Worth’…
When I was thinking about this month’s week-long spotlight, I really wanted to pick a designer I had been with for a long time. Someone who I had started shopping with when they were just starting out. Someone who has continued to grow in leaps and bounds while staying true to their design aesthetic. One such designer came to mind… well actually two designers came to mind. Melatonin Hax and Apatia Hammerer, the adorable and lovable gals behind the label known as Thimbles.
I remember shopping at Thimbles when it was a small storefront on some sim (maybe Cherrybuttons?). I recall the grand opening of the original Starlust Motel when it was a tad smaller and the pool was the main attraction. I remember walking over to some chairs and behind them (or was it beside them?) was a small little place for Thimbles gear. I nabbed the Corey Feldman sweater and the Honey Bee Sweater (if my memory serves me correctly). Ahh those were the good old days!
I have watched Thimbles, and in fact Starlust as a whole, grow and grown and grown! Through every new build, I have been a loyal follower. Always looking for their newest creations and enjoying the whimsy along the way. Yes, Mela and Apatia are a wildly unique pair and I just love them to pieces!! So much I even have a little spot of my own in Starlust Land extended. Not quite close to Thimbles, but close enough to gloat!

Wow, what an amazing weekend!
If you have been in-world over the last few days, then you know the grid has been hopping!! Not only are folks reporting in from the SLCC out in Cali, but all sorts of in-world fashion events have been going on. Designers are spoiling us and I am soo loving it!! I have been delighted and a bit overwhelmed too.
I fought through all my note cards and focused on three events which reaped wonderful finds: Skipping Stones (selective stores), Fifty Linden Fridays, and Designers United. OMG!!! OMG!!! OMG!!! Such freaking awesomeness in these events. I just don’t even know where to begin. Maybe let the photos speak for me
I won’t be providing links to the individual stores, but I will provide the links to get you to the events. That way you can review what’s available and pick for yourself. Sound like a plan? Good! The Skipping Stones Hunt (SSH), which started on August 10, is a grid-wide hunt that features stores with a more “eclectic/bohemian” vibe. Overall, there are a total of 61 vendors/ stores participating, so lots of stones to uncover! Designers United (DU) is an exciting new ventue! Hosted by Vintage McMillian, this 10 day fashion extravaganza ( from August 15-25) is filled with exclusives from some of the best talent on the grid. All the participating designers, sixteen in all, created items with the theme of “Jellyfish”. Some very pretty and interesting creations came forth. So shake your jelly on over to Eugene and check them out for yourself!

Friday now has another reason to be everyone’s favorite day of the week. Fifty Linden Fridays is here folks! Every Friday, several designers will have an item in and/or around their store marked down for 50L. It might be something from the store or an exclusive item. You never know, until you go! Designers and items rotate every week, so its always an event to look forward to! But you have to be quick as the items are only available from midnight on Friday to midnight on Saturday. You know the folks over at Starlust always have a good time, no matter what they are doing. Much more fun that usual has taken place since the lauch of this year’s Panty Raid. If you need new undies, please drop on by and hunt for the little clammies. So much goodness stuffed into those little things, LOL. Click here to learn more about the hunt and who is participating. I managed to wedge my way into Reek and found a little clammie just waiting for me. Inside were these cute boyshort panties. I paired them with a Reek tee I already had. Woo hoo, the cutest look for lounging around the crib!
